August 4: The English Surgeon. The true story of British neurosurgeon Henry Marsh, who has traveled to Ukraine for 15 years to treat patients who have been left to die. A remarkable depiction of one doctor’s commitment to relieving suffering and of the emotional turmoil he undergoes in bringing hope to a desperate people. Directed by Geoffrey Smith.

August 18: Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars. This film tells the remarkable and uplifting story of a group of six Sierra Leonean musicians who came together to form a band while living as refugees in the Republic of Guinea. Directed by Zach Niles & Banker White.
